In February 2020, our lives changed forever when our three year old daughter, Darcey Sunshine, lost her life to drowning. Darcey was a happy, fierce and courageous child who loved the water and had enjoyed swimming lessons for most of her life. At The Darcey Sunshine Foundation, we have made it our mission that no other family should experience this tragedy and we need YOUR help!

This July, for world drowning prevention day, join our worldwide community for THE BIG SPLASH CHALLENGE and pledge to swim to help us achieve our mission.

235,000 lives are lost to drowning globally every year, according to the WHO. We need YOUR help to collectively swim 235,000 metres, one metre for each life needlessly cut short. As we remember Darcey, and others we've loved and lost, we also celebrate all the wonderful work being done in drowning prevention.

We ask you to pledge your distance in the pool, ocean, or loch, joining us between the 22nd and 25th July as we pop on something YELLOW and create a SPLASH, raising awareness and funds for our drowning prevention programme. Match your distance in £ (5p/m) and help us reach our goal of £12,000. Our only rules...keep yourself safe, and never swim alone. Get your friends and family involved and see who can go the distance!
