Help us prevent suicide, the biggest killer of men under 45
Our organisation is unique in that it is mainly led by boys and young men, working with a very experienced adult team. Members of the team have direct experience of supporting young people who have experienced suicide and poor mental health. We are a broad alliance of teachers, parents, youth workers, mental health workers and voluntary organisations, based in and around the city of Bath.
Young people, males in particular, play a key role in all the work we do and decide upon the direction and focus of our strategy. Our youth team has most recently made a set of films which explore issues related to boys and young men not opening up, male stereotypes, and the importance of establishing safe and supportive environments where boys and young men feel comfortable about - and not ashamed of - seeking help when they are struggling. See: https://boysinmind.co.uk/films/
Our aim is to produce a whole range of films and make them available to staff, parents, children and young people in schools and other organisations. We want to stimulate discussion and debate and provide really useful resources for them to access, as well as measuring the impact they are having.
Any funding you can donate or raise will help us:-
Involve more young people in the work
Make more films , especially of boys and young men showing their caring side
Support schools to develop good practice
Develop our website further
