Join the Badger Trust's 'Brock Bimble' this October and walk 7,000 steps a day to protect badgers and their habitats! As part of our 'Brocktober' celebration, with the theme 'Nature is my happy place,' this fun challenge encourages you to explore the outdoors while raising vital funds. Sign up on our JustGiving page, share your journey, and enjoy the benefits of nature knowing you're making a real difference. Step into October with purpose and passion—every step counts for badgers and the environment!
"Nature is my happy place" - a sentiment many of us share. But did you know that badgers play a pivotal role in maintaining the natural beauty and balance of our environment? These fascinating creatures help control insect populations, disperse seeds, and aerate the soil through their digging activities. By protecting badgers and their habitats, we ensure that our natural landscapes remain diverse and vibrant.
However, from blood sports and snaring, to a rise in planning and development which destroys badger setts and fragments their territory, to a decade of badger culling which has seen the slaughter of over 230,000 badgers, badgers have a long history of cruelty and persecution despite being one of the most protected species. That’s why Badger Trust exists. We promote and enhance the welfare, conservation and protection of badgers, their setts and their habitats. We will not stop until badgers are a respected part of our rich wildlife heritage
