Bedfordshire Suicide Bereavement Appeal - supporting families bereaved by suicide in Bedfordshire

CHUMS has been supporting families bereaved by suicide for many years. Due to a large increase in the number of suicides in March & April, we are in desperate need of an additional member of staff to support the families at this devastating time.

Story

CHUMS has been supporting families bereaved by suicide for many years but families often tell us that they wish our support had been available to them earlier. With the help of a fundraising initiative we are able to offer an immediate response to families where someone dies by sudden death including suicide; support is offered to both adults and children/young people. This is possible by working collaboratively with the police, coroner and other agencies.

Funds raised from this campaign will enable us to fund an Early Intervention Response Practitioner for a postvention service within the Bedfordshire Suicide Bereavement Service. This person will be special and unique and will offer a response service for any age support to those devastated by a suicide death.
