Breaking the Barrier addresses the very real need for sporting opportunities that cater for children and young people with learning disabilities. It also gives the chance for family members to take part at the same time in a supportive and positive environment where no one is judged.
This year on Saturday 20 June during Learning Disability Awareness week we are bringing everyone together for a socially distanced Breaking the Barrier challenge event. Usually we would be gathering on beaches, in rivers and at the Velopark but sadly this year that is just not going to be possible. We have been sad about that but we have picked ourselves up. Lifeworks love a barrier to break and lockdown is the one we are facing in 2020.
We are calling on you to take on your a personal stamina challenge to raise money for Lifeworks.. Families can join the Lifeworks virtual 2-hour stamina event, or you could choose to do something else - run laps round your garden, up and down your stairs or back to back keep fit videos - just choose something that you want to achieve and go for it!
By raising money for Lifeworks you will help to ensure that we continue to help people take part in regular adventure sports when Breaking the Barrier returns.
Be a Champion for Lifeworks.
Please note when taking on new exercise it's best to consult your doctor.
