Story
“I was on drugs and on the streets for 20 years. I knew that was bad, but that’s all I knew” Sally
Sally had been through years of pain — abandonment, rejection, addiction. She often arrived first at Webber Street (our day centre) not because she expected solutions, but simply to feel seen.
Through the support of Webber Street staff and volunteers from partner churches, Sally started to open up and this led the way to more gospel conversations and a new life.
Eventually, Sally committed her life to Jesus. Today, she is clean for over a year and a half. She has a flat, a faith community, and has been baptised.
Your participation in LCM's Big Winter Sleepout will help many more people like Sally receive the warm welcome, get help out of homelessness and hear about Jesus.
Webber Street is London City Mission's day centre for people experiencing homelessness. Everyday, over 70 people experiencing homelessness come through the doors. Here, they find hot food, warm welcome, practical help and a chance to hear about Jesus, shard in a sensitive way.
