Story
Theatre Exchange involves weekly workshops for over 50s to create new material through improvisation and script development. Previous shows have toured to lunch and social clubs as well as sheltered accommodation in Hackney and Newham.
This work is important because, "It’s all about taking the show and the theatre to places where people would not always have access to it." amateur theatre actress Christine Taylor
"The best role I ever had was Cinderella at the age of 74 [in the 2018 panto Cindy Rella] which was a great thrill. That was a fun thing to do, at St Joseph’s hospice, somebody said to me, who happened to be in the toilets as well after the show, 'Did you know that’s the first pantomime I was able to see because I couldn’t get out?' I’ll remember that forever." - Janet Evans
