The Staffordshire Police Cadet virtual bucket collection

The Staffordshire Police Cadet scheme is funded entirely by charitable donations and the Covid-19 pandemic has hit us hard. We normally raise over £20k a year by assisting at community events. This year we have only been able to raise £1k.

The charity, Staffordshire Commissioner’s Corporate Social Responsibility Fund, (SCCSRF), was set up to fund the Staffordshire Police Cadets Service. The service was initiated in 2013 by Matthew Ellis, Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire and Rescue and Crime.

Story

We know 2020 has been a difficult time for everyone but charities in particular have been hit hard.

The Staffordshire Police Cadet scheme is a service for young people across Staffordshire which strengthens links between the police and young people, develops leadership skills, improves confidence and provides a sense of civic pride.

The Cadet scheme is funded entirely by charitable donations and a big part of being a Cadet is volunteering their time to assist in many different roles at community events. These events often result in generous donations which help to keep the scheme going. Sadly, due to the Coronavirus pandemic all local events have been cancelled meaning no income into the Cadet charity.

Due to this, we could lose up to 90% of our fundraising income this year. We normally raise over £20k a year for the Staffordshire Police Cadets. This year we have only been able to raise £1k.

We understand that times are hard for everyone but we need the support of the local community now more than ever before. If you are able to make a donation, big or small, it would be incredibly appreciated.
