Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. Our vision is that through the power of rugby every child and young person across the UK & Ireland, no matter what their background has access to the same opportunities.

Story

In October 2026, thirteen Wooden Spoon rugby players will be traversing Cambodia like never before by taking on the Cambodia Tuk-Tuk Challenge – a 900km journey in an Indian-made Tuk-Tuk (Auto-rickshaw), to raise funds for Wooden Spoon.

They will be experiencing the rugged terrain, potholes, and scenic views while driving through Cambodia. The journey will be mentally and physically challenging, but the rewards will be worth it, knowing that they are helping disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK.

Each day will bring new surprises as they tackle thrilling challenges, from hiking to puzzle-solving. On this Challenge they will start their day with a sense of anticipation and excitement waiting for the instructions on where the adventure will take them. As they hit the road, they will be pushing themselves hard to complete all the daily tasks and navigate to the next checkpoint, not necessarily via the most direct route and most likely to get lost along the way.

Tuk-Tuks are the ideal vehicle for this challenge - sturdy, easy to operate, and capable of handling any terrain. With a cruising speed of 22mph and a cruising altitude of about one foot, we are sure that they will navigate Cambodia with ease!

Each participant has paid for the trip themselves and every penny raised goes directly to Wooden Spoon.
