Despite our vital role, many people are unaware that the CARE Team operates as a charity, relying solely on donations and fundraising efforts to continue our life-saving work.
It costs the team, £68,000 per year to continue to provide their life saving work, and unlike other emergency services, the CARE Team does not receive NHS or government funding. This means that every piece of specialist equipment, every training session, and every call-out is funded by the generosity of people like you.
Our volunteers are passionate about making a difference. They donate their time and expertise to ensure that our community receives the highest standard of care. The team respond on average to 1400, 999 emergency calls per year, varying from paediatric cardiac arrests to stabbings and serious road traffic collisions. Our volunteers provide around 4000 hours per year alongside their full-time NHS roles.
Each shift costs £200 to allow our highly trained volunteers, to respond to the regions sickest patients and deliver in hospital level care at the road side. This £200 covers vital equipment, fuel costs and upgrades to equipment allowing the best possible care.
Not only do our volunteers respond in a timely needed most. They support local communities and events where we teach CPR, choking teaching, and provide continuous professional development to clinicians within the West Midlands to maintain high standards of care.
YOUR donation helps the team to continue to do ALL of this vital life saving work !.
