Story
In 2025, Carers Northern Ireland is celebrating 60 years of working with Northern Ireland’s 220,000 unpaid carers to improve every area of their lives.
Every week, 240 people in Northern Ireland take on caring responsibilities for loved ones, friends or neighbours, no matter what other commitments they might have.
We are the only national membership charity for unpaid carers, with over 1,400 members. We aim to create a Northern Ireland that recognises, values and supports the invaluable contribution carers make to society.
In 2025, life continues to be unbearably challenging for carers. A third of carers report feeling lonely and isolated, struggling not only financially, but also with poor physical and mental health, worsened by providing the unpaid care that saves Northern Ireland’s Health and Social Care services £5.8 billion each year.
Will you celebrate our 60th anniversary by fundraising to help us continue the work we do to support Northern Ireland’s unpaid carers?
