Story
As we are almost halfway through 2025, Carers UK celebrate their 60 year milestone. This anniversary is not just a moment to reflect on their incredible journey, but also an opportunity to honour the millions of carers who have dedicated their lives to supporting others.
I am proud to be a carer myself, and I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with this role. The support provided by Carers NI/UK is vital for those of us who give so much of ourselves to care for our loved ones. It is essential that we continue to advocate for the resources and recognition that carers deserve.
I have been able to get a carer's identification card, local support and discounts in Belfast and I am on my way to get a carer's assessment completed.
All of this was facilitated through the links and resources on Carer's NI!
I have also finished my counselling degree and I can see that there is a gap in availability to get more counsellors for carer's. I think promoting Carer's NI and raising funds will help with this.
That’s why I am participating in the "Coffee and Crafts" event as a personal challenge, aiming to raise £500 for Carers NI. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of countless carers who need our support now more than ever. I invite you to join me in this mission—your contribution will help ensure that no carer feels alone on their journey.
