Story
For decades, care workers have struggled with income instability, with few able to build savings on their low pay to manage emergencies. When care workers are in crisis, CWCs Grant Programmes ensure that they receive appropriate financial and specialist support. Providing extra support to meet care workers basic needs gives individuals the resilience to maintain their delivery of high-quality care, demonstrates a commitment to the workforce that encourages skilled staff to remain in the sector, and encourages prospective staff with a sense of extra security.
Since 2020, The CWC has provided over £6.1 million in Crisis Grants and Mental Wellbeing and Health grants to over 12,200 care workers across the UK.
