We are proud to be hosting a special charity match in memory of those we have recently lost—whether they be colleagues we worked closely with or beloved members of our families.
Their memory and the strength shown by those who continue on despite personal grief, remind us of the bonds that unite us as a Club and as a community. It is for this reason that we will be dedicating this year's ‘Play on the Pitch’ charity event to the memory of those we've lost, and to the families and friends who continue to carry them with love.
This year proceeds raised from ‘Play on the Pitch’ will support three wonderful organisations which are very meaningful to some colleagues within Celtic Football Club.
A portion of the proceeds will of course be donated to our charitable arm, Celtic FC Foundation, to support the continuation and development of our work, as we aim to assist the most vulnerable within our communities, by challenging poverty and promoting inclusion.
In addition, a donation will be made to The Invisibles which is a Glasgow-based voluntary organisation which aims to provide comfort to those living on the city’s streets through practical support – by providing a variety of essential items such as sleeping bags, clothing, footwear and toiletries.
The other charity is Child Bereavement UK, which supports families in rebuilding their lives after the loss of a child or when a child is grieving. They provide assistance to children and young people (up to the age of 25) who have lost someone important to them or are facing the imminent loss of a loved one. Additionally, they offer support to parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. Their services are available across the UK, including in Glasgow.
Thank you for your wonderful support.
