This year proceeds raised from ‘Play on the Pitch’ will support three wonderful organisations which are very meaningful to me and my family. I am taking part in this year’s event in memory of Shannon Craig, my beautiful daughter, who tragically passed away on the 1st of January last year.

In Shannon’s honour, funds raised will support three wonderful charities close to her heart – Celtic FC Foundation, The Invisibles and Child Bereavement UK.

A portion of the proceeds will of course be donated to our charitable arm, Celtic FC Foundation, to support the continuation and development of our work, as we aim to assist the most vulnerable within our communities, by challenging poverty and promoting inclusion.

In addition, a donation will be made to The Invisibles which is a Glasgow-based voluntary organisation which aims to provide comfort to those living on the city’s streets through practical support.

The other charity is Child Bereavement UK, which supports families in rebuilding their lives after the loss of a child or when a child is grieving. They provide assistance to children and young people (up to the age of 25) who have lost someone important to them. Additionally, they offer support to parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies.
