The Centre for Adoption Support choir was set up in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength growing in numbers. Members of the choir are children and young adults who are adopted, have adopted siblings or parents in the profession. The choir get together for a fun singing session, build their confidence and make new friends.
This group is not only fun but provides an emotional release for the children. Attending the choir helps develop their sense of belonging and provides a way to express their feelings. Through singing in parts, the children learn to be independent whilst also learning to respond to others musically. They take pride in their group accomplishments together and form lasting relationships with each other. You can listen to their latest recording here: https://www.centreforadoptionsupport.org/downloads/choir/
The choir relies on the support of volunteers. To help the choir grow further we would value donations, every penny donated will help us grow the choir, provide more staff support, musical equipment or even a professional recording studio experience!
