Story

Challenge the Chair!

The Trans Alba Race is a self supported cycling challenge around Scotland. It covers just over 1,000 miles, four ferry trips and 66,000 feet of climbing!

Sounds easy right? Well, self supported means self supported, riders are responsible for all their navigation and logistics, whilst remaining completely self reliant throughout the event. Simply – I’ll be on my own!

How long will it take? 6 … 7 … 8 … days. Not exactly sure. It depends on the wind, rain, midges, punctures, reliability of the bike and most importantly – reliability of my legs!

Why? I’ve always enjoyed challenges. I’ve cycled Lands End to John O’Groats, across the Alps and the Dolomites and the Pyrenees – but always in a supported group. This is my toughest ever challenge carrying all my own kit and finding my own places to eat, sleep and everything else. It is also a great opportunity to raise funds for our wonderful charity, BDCPS.

I have been Chair of trustees for less than a year but already know how a small number of wonderful people are working hard to help equally wonderful and inspiring people live life their way.

Every penny raised will help BDCPS continue their amazing and incredibly valuable work supporting families living with complex disabilities.

Could you sponsor me and keep me motivated?

Just 1p a mile is £10 - but whatever you can spare will be much appreciated!
