Fundraising Fortnight 2026
Raising money to change lives in our community
This July, the Crossley Heath community will come together for our biggest and most ambitious Fundraising Fortnight yet.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to raise an incredible amount of money for both our school and three life-changing charities supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community and beyond.
This year, we are proudly supporting:
-The Crossley Heath School
-Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice
-Overgate Hospice
-St Augustine’s Refugee Centre
For two weeks, students and staff alike will take on fundraising challenges, participate in events, compete in House competitions and push themselves to collectively raise as much money as possible. From our iconic Colour Run to student-led independent fundraising, the whole school will be working together to make a genuine difference.
Why This Matters
At Crossley Heath, philanthropy is a core part of who we are. Our school was founded thanks to the extraordinary generosity and vision of the Crossley Brothers in the 1800s, and we are proud to continue that legacy today.
This is about far more than fundraising. It is about community, compassion and helping our young people understand, from an early age, the importance of supporting others and giving back.
The money raised for school will go towards our exciting new 2G sports pitch project, helping us create a transformational facility that will benefit both Crossley Heath students and the wider community for years to come.
At the same time, donations will help:
-Families facing the devastating reality of terminal illness
-Children and adults receiving hospice care and support
-Vulnerable refugees rebuilding their lives after fleeing conflict, persecution and hardship
Every pound raised will have a real human impact.
Supporting Our School Community
Part of this year’s fundraising will go towards our exciting new 2G sports pitch development, a project that has the potential to completely transform sport and wellbeing opportunities for both our students and the wider community.
The new facility would dramatically improve the sports provision available at Crossley Heath, allowing more students to participate in sport year-round, regardless of weather conditions, while also creating opportunities to expand the range of sports, clubs and activities we can offer.
Importantly, the impact would extend far beyond the school gates. The facility will become a safe, welcoming and accessible space for local community groups to use, including children’s sports clubs, women’s groups, refugee groups and community wellbeing activities.
This is not simply about building a sports pitch. It is about creating opportunities, improving wellbeing, strengthening community connections and investing in a facility that could positively impact thousands of people for years to come.
As a school founded upon generosity and opportunity, we believe it is important that students understand the power of community and giving back.
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.
Their work provides vital care, respite and emotional support during unimaginably difficult times, helping families create precious memories together when every moment matters.
Overgate Hospice
Overgate Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care and support for terminally ill patients and their loved ones across Calderdale.
Their work ensures individuals receive dignity, comfort and care when they need it most, while also supporting families through some of the hardest moments imaginable.
St Augustine’s Refugee Centre
St Augustine’s Refugee Centre supports refugees and asylum seekers who are rebuilding their lives after fleeing war, persecution and crisis.
The charity provides practical support, education, friendship and hope to people who have often lost everything and are trying to rebuild their futures in safety.
Our Goal: raise as much as we can!
We know we can achieve great things if the whole Crossley Heath community comes together and gets behind our campaign. We want every student, parent, member of staff, alumnus and supporter to feel part of something genuinely meaningful.
Throughout Fundraising Fortnight, students will take part in an array of events and activities, including themed non-uniform days, student-led fundraising initiatives, a marketplace event and our hugely popular Colour Run. Students will also be challenged individually to raise as much money as possible through their own creative fundraising ideas and sponsorship efforts.
Along the way, we’ll be sharing:
-Fundraising totals and progress updates
-Student fundraising challenges
-House competitions and leader boards
-Donation milestones
-Stories showing the impact your support will have
Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us move closer to our goal and closer to changing lives.
