Story
Please support our Choctober challenge by eliminating chocolate from your diet during the month of October.
Many kidney patients can't eat chocolate...............
The National Kidney Federation (NKF), established in 1978, is run by kidney patients to support kidney patients and their families across the UK with two main roles - patient support and campaigning.
The NKF provides the only National Helpline dedicated solely to renal patients, their families and carers, by providing a free-to-call service on 0800 169 0936. The NKF is the UK's largest producer and distributor of kidney-related medical information leaflets with a library of over 200 titles written by nephrologists in simple language for patients.
It runs the only FREE UK Helpline dedicated to kidney patients with two fully trained, experienced advisers providing a 5-day-per-week service to kidney patients, carers, healthcare professionals and renal units.
Your support will help us to continue the vital work of supporting kidney patients and their families and campaigning for better renal treatment. Like Asif who called our helpline
“I found dialysing painful, isolating, and questioned how long I could do this for. Thankfully I contacted the National Kidney Federation and they matched me with someone who could relate to my experience, answer practical questions and advise on relevant support services. My peer supporter was someone who listened to my feelings and put my mind at ease. I can’t describe how grateful I was for this, as it was a time when I lost hope and didn’t know where to turn. Thank you NKF for finding me Patricia.”
