To mark 25 years of Columba 1400, our amazing team is taking on a bold and beautiful challenge: walking the full length of the Trotternish Ridge on the Isle of Skye at the beginning of July.
This is no ordinary hike. Over two days, we’ll cover 37km, climb 2,417 metres, wild camp on rugged Skye terrain, and carry heavy rucksacks with all of our expedition gear – including water, as the ridge offers no viable sources along the way.
Some of us are seasoned walkers, while others are taking on their very first challenge – but we’re all walking with the same purpose: to raise vital funds for Columba 1400 and its life-changing work with young people, including those in our own local communities who face tough realities every day.
For 25 years, Columba 1400 has helped young people discover the greatness within themselves. This work changes lives – and we want to make sure we can keep doing that for many years to come.
This walk means a lot to us. We see the ridge every day from our centre in Staffin – it’s a constant presence, but this experience will give us a whole new respect for its scale and beauty.
If you can, we invite you to support our challenge. Every step we take is powered by your generosity – and every penny raised helps us continue to be there for young people – to support them to find the greatness they already have within. 🙏 Thank you.
