Story
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, our face-to-face support services are no longer safe to provide. We desperately need your help to raise the funds it will cost to train and support our volunteers to deliver sessions over the phone.
It is unthinkable that bereaved people could suffer alone. It costs just £43 for a Cruse Bereavement Volunteer to support a bereaved person over the phone. Please hold a Cuppa for Cruse, and help us be there for everyone who needs us.
A Cuppa for Cruse is running throughout April and May, and is a great way to virtually meet up with friends, family, colleagues and raise vital funds at the same time. And it's so simple, fun and easy to do.
Here's your step by step guide:
1) Choose your platform. You can use Zoom, Skype, Facetime, WhatsApp and more and you can find easy to follow instructions here: www.cruse.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising/cuppa-cruse/cuppa-cruse-handy-how-guides (please copy and paste this link into your browser)
2) Set up a JustGiving page, you can do that here now, just click on the orange Start Fundraising button on the right to create your page.
3) Invite friends, family or colleagues to join in and set a date.
4) Ask for a small donation - the £3 you might spend on a cuppa should do it.
5) Have a fun time talking with friends over a cuppa.
6) Let us know how it went and email fundraising@cruse.org.uk if you have any questions.
By raising just £43 through your Cuppa for Cruse, you'll be helping one bereaved person receive the support they need.
Your money will help train our volunteers to handle calls over the phone, and to set up the technology we need to support the change from our face-to-face services, which are no longer safe to provide.
By pulling together, we can be there for everyone who needs us. At a time when its more important than ever. Thank you.
