Story
As some of you may know, I am a Bereavement Volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Care and I am taking part in Cuppa for Cruse raising funds so they can adapt their services and support more people during the Covid-19 pandemic. Funds will also help to train and support Volunteers deliver sessions over the phone with Face-to-Face and Group support services at present no longer safe to provide.
Cuppa for Cruse is a great chance to 'virtually' catch up with friends, family or colleagues and raise crucial funds for Cruse Bereavement Care at the same time. Given the current climate, the support Cruse is giving is so important for the bereaved, who may be feeling particularly vulnerable and alone at this time. Talking is good to support each other through this difficult time and non more so than the bereaved coping with the death of a loved one. Bereavement is a lonely place and can be intensified due to lockdown. It costs just £43 for Cruse to support one bereaved person over the phone, and I would like to help raise as much money as possible to ensure we never have to question the financing of supporting someone. The idea is to each make a small donation from their coffee (other drinks are accepted!) and catch up with friends, family or colleagues. £3, that might have been spent on a coffee, is suggested, but any donation would really help. To cast the net further, perhaps you could ask people at your 'coffee morning' if they too might be happy to have one themselves and pass on my link. The further the net gets cast, the more we might be able to gather.
Cruse Bereavement Care is a charitable organisation with Her Majesty The Queen as our Royal Patron. We offer support, advice and information to children, young people and adults when someone dies. We work to enhance society's care of bereaved people.
Your help and support is much appreciated. Thank You
