Story
CWJ have been supporting The CCT since 2018 and have raised in excess of £13,000 to date. In 2019, CWJ raised enough funds to purchase three No-Isolation robots called Clarky, Wrighty and Jakey to assist young cancer patients connect with school life. Understandably, during the pandemic when schools closed the robots were unable to fully support the children. We are pleased to hear that they are back in school and making a difference to the young patients who need to be connected more than ever with their teachers and classmates.
2022 has seen the CWJ team fundraise for a 22km hike in the Lake District, a quiz night and plans are now underway for hosting our infamous Christmas Shopping Event in late November. Funds raised at these events will be supporting a new tech powered solution that will give children and families fighting cancer easy access to comprehensive resources in one easily accessible place through their phone or tablet on an inspiring new app.
This user friendly app will contain dynamic and engaging education resources including clinical information, details and explanation of procedures, practical tips and advice, where to seek help with financial assistance and specialist support, and links to research and clinical trials. The app will also include real life testimonials from children and families who have gone through the same situation.
The app will be written using a combination of written text, animation and short videos, and presented in a friendly, accessible and interactive way for specifically for oncology families.
Thank you so much for your donation and we look forward to sharing news with you on how these funds are helping cancer patients in our community.
