BICYCLES FOR STUDENTS IN AFRICA

Support the Cycle to School projects - providing bicycles to students in Africa to help them attend school regularly and safely. Your support will allow us to provide bicycles, training and maintenance, and ensure the success of future students.

We collect used bicycles in the UK and we ship them, in containers, to people who need them in Africa. Some people living in rural African communities walk miles everyday to reach water, school, work or healthcare. Bikes are a sustainable mode of transport and help change lives for many families.

Story

Make an Impact with Your Support

At Re-Cycle, our mission is more than just giving away bicycles; it’s about transforming lives and communities. Through our Cycle to School projects, we partner with dedicated organisations in Africa to provide bicycles to students in The Gambia, Ghana, and Sierra Leone who face long and arduous journeys to school. These bicycles are more than a mode of transport—they are a lifeline to education and a brighter future.

Imagine a child in a rural village who must walk miles each day to reach school. The journey is exhausting, and the long distances often lead to late arrivals and absenteeism, ultimately hindering their academic performance. For many girls, these challenges are compounded by societal beliefs that undervalue their education. These Cycle to School projects address these barriers head-on by providing bicycles, safety training, and maintenance support, ensuring that these children can attend school regularly and punctually.

We cannot do this alone. We need your help to expand this life-changing initiative to more students in Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Ghana. Your contribution—whether a one-time donation or ongoing support—will directly fund the provision of bicycles, safety equipment, and training workshops.

Together, we can break down the barriers to education and give these children the opportunity to succeed.

Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to a future where every child has the chance to reach their full potential.
