Story
DAY empowers young people to create positive change in their lives and communities through youth-led support and activities. We work with over 800 young people aged 6–18 across County Durham a year, offering local, accessible sessions that build confidence, wellbeing, relationships, and a sense of purpose, alongside volunteering and leadership opportunities.
Young People
I first started at Bournmoor Youth Club when I was 11, I came because I heard people at my school talking about it, so I decided to give it a try. I didn’t have many friends when I first came but I have made a few more friends with people who come to youth club here. Although I don’t like meeting new people, I have met loads of new people which I am happy about. Youth club is a really nice place to come we do different things every week and I’m happy with how the things we do change every week. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to go on some amazing trips with DAY youth club. Some of the trips I have been on is roller skating, Inflatespace, Ninja Warrior. They take us on a wide range of trips here at youth club. Now I’m 13 and Volunteering at the junior sessions and at community events and it’s the best thing ever, I have also done the talent shows. I could not recommend enough.
Young Person Quote

Also in the holidays there is always trips and there make the holidays more fun and exciting. It gives us something to look forward too"
