Hello! We're the Duncan Family - Joel, Tanya, Mackenzie (6), and J.R. (3)!
J.R. (John Roland), is our, silly, snuggly, and sweet baby of the family. He loves gymnastics, playing with his big sister, visiting the library, watching Paw Patrol, and all things trains/construction. We call him Velcro baby because he is a mama's boy and loves to sit or be held by mom.
After a year-long journey to find answers and support J.R.'s gross motor delay, we received a life-changing diagnosis for J.R. of a rare genetic condition, Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T).
While receiving this diagnosis brought answers, it was incredibly shocking to learn what it meant. A-T is a neurodegenerative disease with significant impacts to quality of life, and with no treatment or cure. A-T causes loss of muscle control and balance, cancer, lung disease, and immune system problems in children and young adults, shortening their lives. Most children with A-T are unable to walk by age 10.
We greatly appreciate your support in helping build awareness and raising funds for the A-T Children's Project (A-TCP) to continue research and developing treatments and a cure for A-T.
The A-TCP is an incredible organization and has supported us in learning about A-T and giving us hope for a cure. Your donations sponsoring runners will go directly towards this critical research and will change lives.
Thank you for your support!
