On Sunday 3 October 2021 the Virgin London Marathon is set to be the biggest marathon ever staged anywhere in the world with 100,000 runner taking part.

We will have some amazing Donkey Sanctuary supporters signed up to run the gruelling 26.2 miles, hoping to raise £10,000 to support donkeys in need in the UK and around the world. Your money will go a long way to helping us keep donkeys and mules safe and healthy. Just £10 provides enough straw to make a warm and dry bed for two rescued donkeys, £20 helps pay for a neglected donkey to have their painful feet trimmed by a farrier and £30 helps pay for veterinary care to help reduce donkey suffering and save their lives. It will buy food and medicine, as well as education and training. Most importantly of all, it rescues helpless donkeys from hopeless situations.
