Running for Donkeys

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
Donkeys 🐴 have always been a kind of spirit animal for me. Stubborn, clumsy and not so smart you might be thinking as you nod your head😬. Well, no that’s not what I am saying.
Our family home in Rearsby came with a donkey. Ting! He lived in the garden and came up to the kitchen window for carrots 🥕. Naturally, my mum quickly fell in love 😍 with Ting, becoming a lover & supporter of donkeys for the rest of her life.
Nowadays, I have another abandoned donkey in my life. Willard who lives up at Meadowland Farm 🚜. For those of you at my wedding 👰🏻, you will remember his loud braying 🐴 every-time my mum’s name was mentioned in the ceremony & speeches.
In my time with these animals, I have learned that donkeys are very intelligent, sociable and deserving of our love. Ting & Williard are some of the lucky donkeys who have found loving homes; the Donkey Sanctuary is there to help the other donkeys & mules in need around the world. The charity has grown from rescuing UK 🇬🇧 donkeys from neglect and abuse to becoming an international 🌍 animal welfare organisation transforming the lives of millions of donkeys & mules, and the people who depend on them for their livelihood.
I’m so happy to be partnering with the Donkey Sanctuary and having the opportunity to run 👟 the London Marathon in memory of my beautiful mum, Rose🌹. All donations are sent directly to the Donkey Sanctuary. You won't be paying for my trip, entry, merch, or even my post-race pints 🍺, all your donations will go towards helping the Donkeys.
Thank you, friends & family, for all your support! Hope to see you in London.
