CAP Rugby's Debt Centre has been serving households in the town and surrounding villages for over 16 years and has seen more than 1.3 million pounds worth of debt cleared through our debt help service.
At Christians Against Poverty, we offer free, expert, client-centered debt help. Our service is brought directly to clients' homes by locally trained Debt Coaches, with a team of volunteers who journey with them each step of the way.
In Rugby, we have recently expanded our client capacity, to meet the growing demand, and are launching money coaching workshops in local prisons. Supporting our fundraiser enables this vital work to continue and the opportunity to bring hope and a brighter future to many more people across our town.
Now that I'm debt free there is a new freedom both financially and in my mental wellbeing. I've found a new perspective and a new peace.
Before contacting CAP, 46% of clients had considered or attempted suicide as their way out of debt. On Debt Relief Day we want to 'wear briefs for debt relief' to raise awareness of free debt help and extend a lifeline to those who are at the end of their rope.
Life before CAP's help felt desperate. They helped in more ways than you can imagine. I went debt free in the summer and it feels like a huge burden has been lifted off of my shoulders; a huge source of worry removed. I'm much more relaxed about daily life, I feel in control again.
