Last year The Derwentwater School Association launched an exciting two phase playground project to enhance the outside playground area at Derwentwater Primary School.
Phase one has already been completed and works have been carried out to provide;
1. A new physical area featuring a compact, high activity climbing frame in treated wood and a 65m, 2 lane running track.
2. A quiet area featuring a fake lawn, seating, planters and an outdoor pavilion which doubles as a playtime shelter and an outdoor classroom.
Fundraising for Phase Two is now underway. This year we hope to provide a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), a rectangular enclosure with soft surfacing and pitch markings for football, netball, hockey and basketball. We believe this will be a versatile and positive investment for our children and the wider community.
The total cost of the MUGA will be £45K.
We hope to raise funds through a few fundraising initiatives and have set a target of £10K through sponsored runs.
We have also launched a monthly giving campaign, if you prefer to give a small amount every month. To set up a monthly giving by direct debit please visit https://www.justgiving.com/derwentwaterschool
Any donation however small will help us achieve our target.
