Educate Afghan girls

Afghan Schoolgirls are suffering too much. Education for secondary school girls is banned under the current regime. All the catastrophic situations of extreme poverty, hunger, civil war, huge unemployment, and the outbreak of COVID-19 have gathered to affect the enrolment and attendance rate of students in primary and secondary schools, particularly girls. Parents are not able to provide the necessary and nutritious food for their children. So, girls do not go to school.

Hayat Orphanage aims to provide food packages for orphan girls who can then attend schools. That will increase the number of girls in primary schools. It will reduce children's hunger. Moreover, it will help and encourage parents to send their daughters to schools, abolishing that negative attitude towards girls' learning. It will eliminate gender disparities. It will contribute so much to achieving gender equality between boys and girls.

Hayat Orphanage has supported orphan boys and girls for the last 6 years, ensuring they go to school, they are fed, and their health needs are met. At the present climate where the Taliban have banned girls education and more than 50 % of the population is officially classed as hungry the funds are needed more than ever to ensure children are fed and educated.

Hayat Orphanage has facilitated the production of online education to empower girls and enable them to continue learning from home. This works best for students whose school is closed or have no school in the remote areas. The video material is available at this Youtube Chanel

Donations are needed to fund:

1. Food package, healthcare, and school fee for the poor orphan children

2. The online school to reach education to more girls

3. Tablets and other electronic devices for the orphans

4. Removal of more children from street begging and onto classrooms

5. Employ more teachers to teach in the remote villages

6. Provide a mobile books library to improve literacy, numeracy and inspire children

About Us: Hayat Orphanage

Hayat Orphanage provides an oasis of hope for orphan children. The Orphanage was opened in March 2013 and is located in the centre of Laghman Province, Afghanistan. Orphans are provided with education, lodging, food, clothes, medication, schoolbooks, shoes etc. The main focus of Hayat Orphanage is to give these vulnerable children a mainstream education and enable them to provide livelihood for their families when they grow up. Orphans are admitted to the local private school and receive tuition in maths, English and computer skills as after-school programs.
