Story
The young women of Afghanistan are facing a crisis. They are growing up in a world where their basic human rights are being ignored. They are growing up to believe that they are less worthy than men. They are growing up in a system that is simply barbaric.
Which means that theyre not really growing up at all.
The culture would appear ancient to all of us. Imagine being expected to pay for the crimes of your brother. He will face no punishment, but you will be forced into a life of oppression and servitude, simply because you are a girl. Imagine being forced into marriage with the victims family a child, wedded to someone who will view you as no more than a token, much less a person with rights and feelings.
In Afghanistan, boys and men are expected to make money, whilst women and girls are not. What seems unjust to you is their normal way of life. These young women dont know about their human rights. They dont know about their rights to medical attention.
