Regenerate is a youth charity working with young people & their families in South West London. We inspire and support young people by building strong relationships and creating life changing opportunities; helping them grow in confidence, make the best of their lives and impact the world for good

Story

Recent statistics show that 946,000 young people aged 16-24 are NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training). At Regenerate we’re working to change this through our social enterprise Feel Good, and this summer, we’re fundraising to change the lives of even more young people by opening a second Feel Good coffee house.

We believe no matter your background, you should have the opportunity and support to dream big, and achieve success.

On our mission to raise awareness and funds we're taking on some huge challenges, and on Wednesday 15th July a group of young people from Feel Good will be setting off on a cycle ride from our coffee shop in Southfields all the way to the Eiffel Tower in Paris!

For everyone of them, this is far outside their comfort zone. None have ever taken on anything like it before, but they’re challenging themselves because they believe in creating opportunities for other young people just like them.

A testing journey of both physical and mental strength and endurance, these young people are about to show us what we can do when we dream big and put our minds to it!

Young people face a range of challenges in life. Factors such as special educational needs, poor mental health, and disadvantage, all feed into a cycle of being out of education, work and sometimes, into contact with the youth justice system.

Feel Good was born in 2014 as a direct response to these challenges, and young people we were working with expressing how badly they wanted to turn their lives around, but how difficult they were finding it to get a job. Feel Good provides training, mentoring and employment, so that they can grow in confidence and key skills, and make positive changes in their lives.

We’re all about seeing potential, getting to know each young person as an individual, and supporting them in a meaningful way.

Today, we work with 100 young people a year – employing and mentoring 50, and offering another 50 access to employability skills training and mentoring to help them get work ready. In the last year, 100% of our participants have demonstrated improved outcomes, 80% have transitioned into employment, education or training, and 0% have re-offended.

This shows that the issue isn’t ability. It’s access to opportunity.

Our first brick and mortar shop opened in 2024 and allowed us to dramatically upscale our offering and employ double the number of young people than before.

With a second coffee shop, we will be able to:

• Support, mentor and train 120 young people a year

• Employ 75 young people a year on 12-month contracts, working to move them on to further employment and/or training after this.

• Work towards self sustainability, which will help us grow and support even more young people year on year!

This Summer, through a number of challenges that will take us on some wild and testing adventures, we’re raising £50,000 to help us do this, and we appreciate every single bit of your support!
