The magic of the Great North Run can be hard to understand until youve experienced it for yourself. The AJ Bell Great North Run is famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable en-route entertainment and warm Geordie welcome. Not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes!
Families pay three times higher costs to care for their disabled child and face severely reduced income due to the round-the-clock care and support they provide.
"The cost-of-living crisis magnifies what families like mine have already been suffering with for years! said Jo, a mum and carer of three.
From essential items like kitchen appliances or clothing, to travel to hospital appointments, much-needed family breaks and in-depth information and support, Family Fund is a national charity that aims to reduce the financial pressures of raising a disabled child and make life easier.
Every penny raised from the Great North Run will help Family Fund provide grants to families raising a disabled or seriously ill child across the UK.
"Without the Family Fund grant we would have had to wait a long time to get a new fridge freezer" - Olivia, mum and carer.
