The maize harvest takes place in Malawi at the end of March and this is the best time to buy this staple food. We hope to have enough funds to buy sufficient maize to feed the children over the next year as well as and other staples where possible.

The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Kondanani UK supports the work of Kondanani Children's Village in Malawi which cares for orphaned children. We give them a loving home, 1st rate education and help them dream big dreams. Also our new paediatric hospital gives medical care to children aged 1 to 5 from the surrounding villages.
Story
Kondanani Children's Village is an orphanage complex in Africa that major UK charities have supported for many years. Sadly some of these are no longer in a position to do so and we are now relying on the support of individuals across the British Isles who have a heart for the children of Africa.
Founded by Annie Chikhwaza and her late husband Lewis, in 1998 Kondanani has grown from strength to strength. From one baby living with HIV / AIDs to approximately 150 children. The project now comprises children's schools and a pediatric hospital, the Esther Meyer Memorial Children's Hospital.
Covid-19 recently affected Kondanani badly with many children infected and the death of one of the key leaders, Cherie Martin. Annie Chikhwaza also had to suffer a double bout with Covid-19 and malaria but survived.
The heart of Kondanani Children's Village is the preservation of children's lives. We take the promise of Psalm 118:17 very seriously "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."
Please help us feed our children through our Food 2021 programme or with a gift of any amount towards the ongoing costs of the operation.
