Story
On Sunday 21st March 2021, join Grief Encounters inaugural covid-secure 'forget-me-not' walk in memory of a loved one, someone close, or to remember all the lives lost since the start of the pandemic, and raise funds for bereaved children, young people and their families across the UK.
Walk on your own, with your household, bubble or a friend - dont forget to include the dog! Choose your route and distance, perhaps a collective 26 mile marathon or 26 laps of your local park. Each person/dog that registers (£5 per person/dog) will receive a baseball cap/doggy bandana in their event pack so they can walk in style!
100% of the funds raised will go towards supporting bereaved children and young people who have experienced the death of someone close, and families and individuals impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Since March last year, there have been over 100,000 deaths due to Coronavirus, and as demand on our free, professional services grows, so does the difficulty to fundraise. We have transferred all of our professional support services online, including group workshops, individual e-counselling and memory workshops. Our priority is to be able to continue offering the best support we can to all of those who need us. We can't do that without your support.
Just £26 could fund a session on our free helpline, grieftalk. There is no minimum fundraising target. For every £26 you raise, you could fund the cost of a grieftalk helpline session, providing essential emotional support for a grieving child or young person, following the death of a parent.
If you would like to join the hundreds of people across the UK walking for Grief Encounter, register today and raise as much as you can for Grief Encounter. https://www.griefencounter.org.uk/event/the-forget-me-not-walk/
Thank you.
