Story
A fearless team of 15 staff and volunteers is gearing up for a test of grit and heart: a 15 km Tough Mudder on 19 September 2026, tackling 20 formidable obstacles that will push them to the limit, including bone-chilling water and daunting electrical challenges. Their mission isn’t just to conquer the course; it’s to raise £10,000 for foster and release pens that will give rescued cubs a second chance at life in the wild.

Last cub season, over 150 sick, injured, or orphaned cubs that could not be reunified with their mothers were placed into our foster system. That staggering number underscores the urgency of our work. Our pens are crafted from scratch by a devoted team of volunteers, keeping costs down and ensuring each cub receives the care and space they deserve. Each pen shelters five cubs, allowing them to grow together in a safe, natural setting until they are ready for soft release during the dispersal window in July/August at specially chosen release sites.

The £10,000 we’re aiming to raise will fund 20 pens—from timber to wire, bolts to hinges—every component chosen to create secure, safe environments where cubs can learn from each other and the world around them.

Our Tough Mudder team embodies everything The Fox Project stands for: teamwork, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to wildlife in need. Each obstacle on the course mirrors the hurdles we help cubs overcome every day. Your support translates into tangible, on-the-ground impact: safe pens, second chances, and brighter futures.

If you can, please donate on our JustGiving page, share this appeal with friends and family, and consider asking local businesses to sponsor or match gifts. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to that goal.
Thank you for standing with us and giving cubs the chance to grow, flourish, and return to the wild where they belong.
