GameBlast 2026 kicks off this February and you're invited to take part!

GameBlast is our biggest annual fundraise where streamers, video makers, podcasters and creators of all kinds who have a love for accessibility, gaming and community are invited to come together to help raise vital funds for SpecialEffect!

Each year, SpecialEffect needs to raise roughly £3,000,000 to allow us to provide our services entirely free to physically disabled people all over the world. Whether we’re creating individual accessible gaming setups, providing support to the games industry or creating new accessible games for PC and mobile, SpecialEffect is dedicated to making the world more accessible and inclusive.

We put fun and inclusion into the lives of people with physical disabilities, enabling them to play video games & access technology with whichever part(s) of their body they can use best.

By adapting technology from modified joypads to eye-control, we find a way for people to play to the best of their abilities, bringing families and friends together & having a profoundly positive impact on confidence, rehabilitation and quality of life. We also work with eye-control, helping those completely paralysed & unable to speak to communicate just by moving their eyes.
