This month Age UK Thanet is launching our Give to a Grandparent appeal. Were asking for your kind generosity, by donating whatever you can afford, to support the older members of our Thanet community who need us the most.

We enable individuals aged 50+ to make choices, to participate, and be present in their community. Ultimately, we support older individuals to remain independent, so that they can positively overcome any mental or physical barriers that arise (and live a colourful, amazing life!).

Each of us had a different experience of the national lockdowns over the last two years, but most of us can understand how this was a lonely and isolating time for many people. Sadly, this is a social issue that extends beyond the lockdowns, and is the daily norm for many older people in the UK, including the oldest and most vulnerable. In fact, past reports have highlighted that Thanet has been named as one of the loneliest places in the UK.

You can make a difference by helping us in our mission to tackle these issues, and beyond.

Everyone deserves to feel connected, valued and empowered. This can only be achieved if we see it as everyones responsibility to make them feel like they have somebody to care about them.
