We believe the Internet is a place of possibility and opportunity. It's where we collaborate for a better world. It's where we share our hopes and strengthen our bonds. It's where we work, learn, and make progress. We are a global nonprofit empowering people to keep the Internet a force for good.

Story

The villages of Khunde and Khumjung have always been remote, cut off from the world beyond by the mountains that define them. But now, connection to the outside world is the very thing these isolated communities need in order to survive.

The future of trekking and guiding is under threat from climate changeand with it, this traditional source of income for the Sherpa people of Khunde and Khumjung is under threat, too. The Internet heralds promise: the power to provide the opportunities the villagers need to stay connected to the mountains.

With your help and the Internet at their fingertips, the Sherpas of Khunde and Khumjung can find the economic possibilities, education, and healthcare they need to build a better future.
