Bring the Internet to Everest

Hosting Brunches to bring the Internet to Everest
In our endeavor to bring the Internet to the Sherpa community on Everest, my friends & I will be hosting brunches across April 2023. During these brunches, we’ll talk about the Internet, tech policy, society, career, philanthropy, and everything in between. We appeal to all in our network to donate 😇 & if possible, join us for a brunch! In-person brunches will typically be hosted in Delhi-NCR & Lucknow. We will also host virtual coffee chats ☕ based on feedback.
You can join us for brunch or coffee by clicking here: https://forms.gle/hejgQLsuKTiMmNjLA
The villages of Khunde and Khumjung have always been remote, cut off from the world beyond by the mountains that define them. But now, connection to the outside world is the very thing these isolated communities need in order to survive.
The future of trekking and guiding is under threat from climate change and with it, this traditional source of income for the Sherpa people of Khunde and Khumjung is under threat, too. The Internet heralds promise: the power to provide the opportunities the villagers need to stay connected to the mountains.
With your help and the Internet at their fingertips, the Sherpas of Khunde and Khumjung can find the economic possibilities, education, and healthcare they need to build a better future.
