Thanks for visiting Friends School Lisburn - Glow with the Flow team fundraising campaign page. We've joined together to raise money for local mental health charity CAUSE, a unique peer-led local NI charity committed to providing safe, quality, practical and emotional support to those families who continue to be affected caring for someone with a serious and complex mental illness. NI has higher levels of mental ill health than any other region in the UK - 1 in 5 adults and around 45,000 of children here have a mental health problem at any one time. Monies raised through our event will go to support CAUSEs Helpline 0800 103 2833, its network of support groups like the two based in the Lisburn area, educational and therapeutic respite for carers and training for carers and professionals within the mental health sector.

On Friday 29 March at dusk Friends School pupils will be dancing and running to the beat with a session of FitSteps - when they will learn how to Cha Cha Cha - the Strictly way - followed with a 5k run around the school all glammed up with fluorescence everywhere making an amazing glow in the dark for mental health.

We are delighted to be organising this event for CAUSE as a pilot to this new school dance initiative. The physical and mental health benefits of dancing and exercise are well documented by researchers. After Glow with the Flow, we will be presenting CAUSE with a promotional video which the charity can use to help encourage others schools throughout NI to sign up for the CAUSE to DANCE initiative. Strictly a lot of fun and for a great CAUSE!
