The NI statistics for mental health are higher than any other area in UK. CAUSE is the only charity of its kind - a unique peer led regional charity that will be supporting its silver anniversary in 2020. What is meant by peer led, is that all our front line staff are or have cared for someone with a complex mental illness eg Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Bi-Polar, Personality Disorders and severe Depression. From our first support group started by two different sets of parents in 1995, have evolved our support services of today - our Helpline, support groups, training for mental health carers and professionals, educational and therapeutic respite for carers and being a voice for all mental health carers in developing and sustaining the services needed!
