Goodwin Procter is raising money to fight child poverty

It isn't right that so many children are growing up in poverty in this country. Goodwin Procter is raising money throughout 2021 for CPAG, so we can do our bit to prevent and end child poverty - for good.

We are the trusted voice on child poverty. On average nine children in a classroom of 30 are growing up in poverty. That's 4.5 million children in the UK. Our vision is a society free from child poverty, where all children can enjoy a childhood without financial hardship.

Story

Goodwin Procter LLP are delighted to have chosen Child Poverty Action Group as our Charity of the Year in 2021. The coronavirus crisis means there are now further financial pressures on thousands of families across the country who were already struggling to get by. Struggle has quickly turned to real hardship for many.

4.2 million children in the UK (more than 1 in 4) are growing up in poverty. This is not right. CPAG works on behalf of these children and families, researching what causes poverty and the impact it has on children's lives to campaign for policies that will prevent and solve poverty. They provide advice, training and information to make sure hard-up families get the financial support they need, and carry out high profile legal work to protect families' rights.

CPAG is now working hard to support families facing financial hardship during the pandemic - to prevent or minimise more children ending up in poverty.

We are proud to be fundraising for CPAG's crucial work during this difficult time for families across the country. We will be running a whole host of fundraising events and activities throughout the year and we would love your support for this worthy cause.

How your donation can make a difference:

£47 could fund CPAG's advice service for one hour, meaning our advisers can ensure financial assistance reaches people who have fallen on hard times during the pandemic.

£260 could fund one of our legal team to represent vulnerable people in the courts. We have already responded to a range of legal queries about those affected by coronavirus and have future litigation planned.

£1,000 could help fund CPAG's experts support frontline workers with up-to-date information to ensure families get the right support to which they are entitled as a result of coronavirus.
