Join our very own former Norwich City player Jeremy Goss and his Goss Squad on the Tour de Broads, Norfolks biggest cycling sporting event and help support Age UK Norwichs Active Health campaign! Taking place on 22 August 2021 at Whitlingham Broad, cyclists will enjoy spectacular scenery whilst helping the older people of Norwich be active and healthy as we come out of the pandemic.
We're delighted to have the support of Howes Percival and Loveday Partners who will have their very own team of cyclists taking part and hoping to raise some serious funds for us and we'd love for more people to join us!
Here's how your money can help us:
The COVID pandemic has had a severe impact on older peoples mental and physical health. Many have seen their health deteriorate due to isolation and lack of opportunities to be socially and physically active.
One in four are unable to walk as far as before
The proportion of over 70s experiencing depression has doubled since the start of the pandemic.
One in five older people agreed that since the start of lockdown, they are finding it harder to remember things
82% of people affected by dementia reporting an increase in dementia symptoms during lockdown
Age UK Norwich has been part of the city landscape for over 75 years and the work we do is needed today, more than ever. We pride ourselves on promoting a positive view of older age and our Active Health campaign will give opportunities for people to live healthy and active lives. Your money will help us to:
Support people out of poverty and through conditions that affect their health and their future
Encourage people to live an active and healthy later life
Connect people in a city that is challenged by loneliness
Give those living with dementia help to live full and active lives
We help the person, not just one problem, and we have made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of older people living in Norwich.
Please support our cause and help us make Norwich a great place to grow old.
