Jeff Crozier, 85, is registered as partially sighted and has had four knee replacements but he's not letting that stop him from taking on a virtual 410 mile challenge, around the old Lancashire boundaries.
Jeff, from St Anne's was left with severe sight loss after having a series of strokes and mini-strokes five years ago.
In his 85th year Jeff has benefitted from help from so many excellent organisations, so his hope is to raise some money in support of a very deserving charity, N-Vision: The Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind.
Jeff has restricted vision, the result of several strokes. He also has reduced mobility caused by severe arthritis. He has had four knee replacements (so that is a total of six knees including the ones he was born with!) The most recent knee replacement was performed by Wrightington Hospital, Wigan, where he had a unique procedure, and was told by the surgeon that it was the first such operation in Europe!
Jeff's plan is to cycle and walk , around the old Lancashire boundaries.(cycling on his exercise bike and walking with walking aids around his home town of Lytham St Anne's and using his treadmill!). Jeff recently started his walk in September and is carefully logging his distance each day.
It is going to take a few months to complete. Jeff, who has three sons, five grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren, is being supported by his wife, Gwen.
He is raising money for N-Vision: The Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind, who support people who are visually impaired.
