Story

Get your thinking caps on!

Make a hat inspired by Lichfield Cathedral with spires and all. Submit pictures to be entered into our competition.

Take a virtual tour of the Cathedral to get some ideas.

Save materials that would normally be thrown away, such as cardboard, paper, plastic containers, or plastic bottles. Of course, glue, safety pins, sticky tape, paint and crayons can be used . We do NOT want you to use sewing, knitting or crochet . Please recycle things which would have been thrown away.

Submit your pictures to development@lichfield-cathedral.org to be entered into our competition. There will be three age categories: 9 or under, 10 to 15, and 16+. The closing date for entries is 11 June. Prizes will be awarded!

Please consider a donation of £2 per hat or a family donation of £6 (suggested donations). All the money raised will help to support Lichfield Cathedral while we are temporarily closed and we are all staying at home.

Please submit pictures of your hat(s) from the front, back and side. If you would prefer not to have a picture of your face online (should you win!) please take pictures where you are not wearing it. All entries will be judged by the Dean of Lichfield, The Very Revd Adrian Dorber.

Lichfield Cathedral has been a place of pilgrimage, history and worship for over 1,300 years. It costs £5,000 a day to keep the Cathedral open. We do not charge for entry, so your support is vital to help preserve the fabric of the building and develop its ministry for future generations. Thank you.
