As part of the Charity's 40th Anniversary we have a number of individuals taking part in this amazing fundraising event, each with their own powerful reason for supporting Headway Portsmouth. Every participant has received invaluable help, care, and support from this life-changing charity, and now they’re giving back.

One of our participants was involved in a serious road traffic accident while riding his motorbike in 2017, sustaining severe injuries that turned his life upside down. With the support of Headway Portsmouth, he has been able to rebuild his confidence, regain independence, and move forward in ways that once felt impossible.

Another individual, at just 20 years old, suffered a heart attack while playing football—an experience that completely changed the course of their life and highlights how suddenly everything can change.

We also have a dedicated carer taking part, representing another vital side of what Headway Portsmouth does. Their journey reflects the reality for many families, where loved ones’ lives are turned upside down, and they step into the role of full-time carers—often without warning. The charity not only supports those with brain injuries but also provides essential guidance, understanding, and support to the families who care for them every day.

Headway Portsmouth provides essential services to people living with brain injuries, as well as support for their families and carers. Their work truly changes lives—but they can’t do it without your help.

We support over 500 people every year and by donating, you are directly supporting people on their journey of recovery and helping to ensure these vital services remain available to those who need them most.
