Strava lovers - this one's for you 🤳👟
This May, we're inviting you to send a message of hope & solidarity to survivors. Walk, run, or cycle in the shape of a heart, while raising essential funds and awareness for survivors' mental health.
Once your JustGiving page is set-up, link to your Strava account. Plan your route and get active! Raise £20 and we'll send you a free, Women's Aid t-shirt as a big thank you. You can wear your allyship with pride!
And if you're looking to connect with other feminist allies taking part in this challenge, we're launching a Team Women's Aid Strava Group 💪
Every step you take helps send a powerful message: survivors are not alone.
The impact of abuse, explained
For many women, the impact is profound. Research shows that almost half of survivors supported by domestic abuse services need help with their mental health, and survivors are three times more likely to attempt suicide.
At Women’s Aid, we know that no survivor should have to face trauma alone. That’s why we created the Survivors' Forum, an anonymous, online space where women can share their experiences and offer peer-led support.
This forum has been a vital lifeline to help make sense of the situation I am living in. The support from other women who have been through similar experiences has given me hope and strength when otherwise, I would have been isolated.
Sometimes, a simple "me too" makes the world of difference. By taking part in this challenge, you’ll help ensure survivors can access validation and belief when they need it the most.
