Rak's Trust was setup on behalf and in memory of Flight Lieutenant Rakesh Chauhan who was onboard the Lynx helicopter that crashed in April 2014 in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. The Air Ambulance Service is an organisation that was close to his heart and subsequently we support it fully.

Story

This year we will be attempting to summit Helvellyn via Striding Edge. Those of you familiar with our trust will know that we attempted this walk in 2019, but we were defeated by the weather. Hopefully we will be able to make the climb this year!

2022 also sees the launch our new project to fund a school programme in Nepal as part of the Gurkha Welfare Trust's (GWT) schools project. The GWT has been supporting British Gurkha veterans for over 6o years. More recently since the 2015 earthquake, GWT has been supporting the wider community in Nepal to rebuild essential infrastructure and services.

As part of their school rebuilding project we will be funding the construction of a school block. Your support will go directly to help fund this.
